Year End Party - Saturday, November 18, 2017

The annual Year-End-Party was held this past weekend. The Hilton Garden Inn was once again our location for the Year End Party. The annual general meeting was held prior to the year end festivities. Following the meeting, the evening started of with a few drinks and catching up with fellow members on this years activities. The hotel served another great buffet and the evening continued with dancing and more refreshments. Through out the evening door prizes where handed out (provided by club and our sponsors), Sue Baggs roasted Bob Steele for a very entertaining road tour to the Picton area in September and some very entertaining dancing.Love was definitely in the air as some members were extremely happy to see old friends ... right Tony and Ron

Guests were very generous with their donations to Toy Mountain. Thanks again to Ron and Kim Rail for volunteering to deliver the gifts. Thanks to everyone that put in time and effort to make the party a success. More Pictures

Ron and Kim Rail's Road Tour (Sunday, November 5, 2017)

A raining cold day did not stop 24 club members from participating in the last road tour of the season. 6 corvettes and those that have already been put away for the season drove their daily drivers for the tour.

We drove on a country tour with a Tim’s stop along the way to the St. Raphael’s Ruins National Historic Site to visit one of the earliest Roman Catholic churches that was destroyed by a fire in 1970. The site was declared a National Historic Site in 1999.

The rain had stopped prior to getting to the church, but just as we were leaving it started again. It was a wet drive to Embrun to the Toque Brewery. Here we enjoyed a variety of food and samplers of beer, before making our purchases and leaving for home.

Despite the rain and cold weather, every seemed to enjoy themselves. Thanks Ron and Kim for a great final road tour. More Pictures

Canada 150—Remembering the Patriot War (Saturday August 5, 2017)

17 members met at HWY 416 & Bankfield for a road tour and trip through time, led by Les. The trip to Prescott had us drive country roads through Oxford Mills and Bishop’s Mills to the first stop of the day at Fort Wellington in Prescott. We received a history lesson on the fort from the war of 1812 to the 1837-38 rebellions.

After touring the fort, we made our way to the Red George Pub for lunch.

Following lunch, we travelled east a short distance along the St. Lawrence River to the Battle of the Windmill National Historic Site to tour the windmill and another history lesson on the battle that took place on the site in 1838.

After the tour of the Windmill, we travelled across the road to the Windmill Brewery/King’s Lock Distillery. We had a chance to tour the distillery and sample many of the fine spirits.

The day was a busy one, with a great road tour, lots of history lessons, good lunch and tasteful samples from the distillery. Thanks Les for a great day.   More Pictures

Road Tour and Pulled Pork Dinner (Saturday, July 22, 2017)

Paul & Michelle hosted a road tour and pulled pork dinner on Saturday, July 22,2017

Paul lead a road tour of 16 member corvettes that started in Winchester, making our way along the back roads to St. Alberts. Last year's road tour was a big success so another visit to the St. Albert's Cheese Co-operative was in order.

Member’s rushed in (Ron & Kim) to be the first in line for ice cream, but eventually we all managed to get some, toured the facilities and purchased cheese in their store.

Paul than led the tour back to his place, for the pulled pork dinner. A few more members joined the dinner. Lot’s of great food, drink and socializing. The weather was hot and sunny. We even had visitors from above trying to crash our party.

John brought in samples of our new clothing line from our new supplier for members to look at.

Thanks Paul and Michelle for a great day. It was a great turn out and a wonderful event.   More Pictures

Kars Rideau Valley Airpark Fly-In & BBQ - Saturday, July 15, 2017

The Club was invited by the Kars Flying Club to the Annual Rideau Valley Fly-In & BBQ held at the Kars Rideau Valley Airpark on Saturday, July 15, 2017.

Keith led a group of members on a tour to airpark. The rain had stopped and it became a rather pleasant day with a great BBQ put on by the flying club.

With all the rain in recent weeks the air-field was too wet for many planes to fly-in. An ultra-light and a small plane from Toronto did make the trip. The flying club was very appreciative of the CCC members that came. Many people from the area stopped in with there children to enjoy the BBQ. More Pictures
